Our children love books! During Bookweek, they enjoyed a variety of visits by drama groups and writing workshop specialists and completed a whole range of fun activities.
Pictured below are teachers reading to a class other than their own as well as our Book Character Dress Up day Assembly.
Iqra primary celebrated world maths weeks with a whole series of mathematical challenges, organised and coordinated by our maths lead teacher, Ustadah Muse.
Our children got to take part in 'mathletics' using our computers, playing against children from all over the world.
During the week, they also got to handle a range of manipulatives in problem solving capacities, take part in number challenges and develop their geometry skills.
The week was thoroughly enjoyed by every one of our young mathematicians!
Between 9.11.15 and 23.11.15 we have been thinking all about anti-bullying awareness.
Michelle Boreland from the local authority visited our school and spoke to the infants in an assembly.
Later in the week she spoke to the juniors in their own assembly.
We have been exploring the issue in class too.
Our children are learning to recognise what bullying is, what it is not, when it can happen, what to do if it happens, how we can prevent it from happening and what strategies we can use to help ourselves and others.
Iqra Primary School celebrated Eid Mubarak with the children and many of the parents, on 9th October. Our grateful thanks go to the parent volunteers who prepared wonderful food for our children, as well as helping us to serve it. A lovely celebration was enjoyed by all.
