Iqra VA Primary School Achieves Gold Travel for Life Accreditation! 

We are delighted to announce that Iqra VA Primary School has achieved Gold accreditation through the Travel for Life programme! 

This is a fantastic achievement and recognises our school’s commitment to promoting active, sustainable and safe travel across our school community. 

Over the past year, our pupils, staff and families have taken part in a range of activities designed to encourage walking, cycling, scooting and using public transport. From our Bike Bonanza and road safety activities to Independent Travel Training, Bikeability, Learn to Ride and our participation in Road Safety Week, we have been working hard to make active travel an important part of school life. 

Our pupils have also developed their understanding of how their travel choices can help to create a healthier, safer and more sustainable environment. 

Achieving Gold accreditation is a wonderful recognition of the collective effort of our whole school community. We are incredibly proud of our pupils for embracing the opportunities to develop their independence, confidence and road safety awareness. 

A huge JazakAllahu khayran to our pupils, staff, families and everyone who has supported our active travel journey. Your enthusiasm and commitment have helped us reach this important milestone.

Although we have achieved Gold, this is not the end of our journey! We will continue to build on our success, introduce new activities and encourage even more members of our school community to choose active, safe and sustainable ways to travel. 

Our Gold accreditation is valid until July 2029, giving us plenty of opportunities to continue developing our Travel for Life work and inspiring positive change.
