Monday 19 October 2026 Year Five's Busy Term! Year five have had an amazing half term - we've visited the British Museum to look at artefacts from Baghdad 900 AD (which links to our History topic on Islamic Civilisation and our topic on Islamic Art). Children were immersed in sketching the geometric designs and calligraphy. We had interesting discussions on who may have used the artefacts and discussed which patterns we recognised from our own lives today.

Monday 12 October 2026 Exciting News – year3 Visit to the Horniman Museum! On Friday 16th October, we are looking forward to an exciting educational visit to the Horniman Museum, where the children will take part in a special Stone Age workshop. They will have the opportunity to explore prehistoric life, investigate archaeological evidence and discover how artefacts help us understand the past. This hands-on experience will bring our classroom learning to life, encouraging the children to think like historians, ask questions and deepen their understanding of this fascinating period in history. We cannot wait to see their curiosity and enthusiasm grow as they uncover the secrets of prehistoric Britain!

Friday 9 October 2026 Nursery love Music! In Nursery, we are practising nursery rhymes as one of our first themes. Children are enjoying their Music lessons every Friday with our passionate Music teacher. The children are practising their body percussion, rhythm and rhyme as in line with their curriculum progression.

Tuesday 6 October 2026 Reception Autumn 1 News Our Reception children have been getting creative by making their own self-portraits! They used their developing cutting and sticking skills to choose and arrange different materials to represent their facial features. This activity supported their Expressive Arts and Design, as well as their fine motor skills, while encouraging them to talk about and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

Friday 30 January 2026 Year 6 Science Investigation This term in science, Year 6 investigated the question: What conditions are needed for mould to grow? They carried out a fair test using two slices of bread. One slice was damp, covered in cling film and placed in a cupboard, while the other slice was dry, also covered in cling film and left for the same amount of time. This allowed Year 6 to carefully compare the different conditions.
